Entries are open to amateur golfers from an MGA Member Club or full-time Massachusetts residents who will not reach their 14th birthday by midnight July 19, 2017. The field is limited to 48 players. Entries will be on a first come, first served basis.
For Returning Competitors Without a GHIN #: Competitors who registered for the 2016 MGA Junior Amateur Championship, can log into the system using their e-mail address and password. For New Competitors Without a GHIN #: Bay State residents who do not have an up-to-date GHIN number can also register but they must create a new profile in the MGA system using their current e-mail address. Click here to set up your account.
In 2015, the MGA introduced its newest Championship - the MGA Boys Junior Amateur - in order to provide young junior competitors the opportunity to compete in an event of their own. The one-day, 18-hole event will allow those junior amateurs who are 13 years old and younger to showcase their talents. The name was changed in 2016 to the MGA Young Golfers' Amateur Championship since all MGA Championships (excluding the father-daughter and father-son events) are open to both males and females.
Conner Willett (Charles River CC) stole the show and took home the second annual MGA Young Golfers’ Amateur Championship at the Acoaxet Club With five bogeys on the front nine and a birdie, Willett, a Wellesley native, balanced two birdies with two bogeys on the back nine to remain at 4-over par and in good standing as he completed his round.
