WAGR Counting Event

The World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), which comprises a women's ranking and a men's ranking for elite amateur players, is offered by The R&A and the USGA as a global service to golf. WAGR is updated every Wednesday on www.wagr.com and is available to national federations and organizers of amateur and professional events and tours for purposes of offering exemptions, selecting national teams and assembling Orders of Merit. WAGR currently incorporates over 4,000 events with over 10,000 players and endeavors to be the most comprehensive and accurate ranking in golf by effectively comparing players from around the world who may never directly compete against one another.

AJGA Performance Based Entry

The Massachusetts Junior Amateur champion will become fully exempt with the AJGA, while the top 15 finishers will earn performance stars.

For more information, please visit the AJGA's web site at www.ajga.org.

It may have taken him three days to get there, but 15-year-old James Imai (George Wright GC) finally posted an under-par round at Kernwood Country Club and his prize for doing such was the 98th Massachusetts Junior Amateur Championship title. On the third and final day, Imai carded a 1-under par 69 on for a three-round winning score of 4-over par 214. He was the only competitor in the field to post a number in the 60s that week. As a result of his victory, Imai became only the fourth Pre-Junior Division player (one who is 14-15 years old) in 24 years to capture the overall title. Read More
