Since the inception of the MGA Jr. Golf Fund, The First Tee of Massachusetts has expanded its programs and learning opportunities all across the state in an effort to help grow the game of golf.
Having been established in 2003, The First Tee of Massachusetts will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2013. During the last decade, The First Tee of Massachusetts has grown from its humble beginnings at MGA Links at Mamantapett to statewide expansion at various golf courses, youth agency partnerships, and school programs.
The MGA Junior Golf Fund and The First Tee of Massachusetts have also expanded to establish 4 full-time program affiliates that provide learning opportunities for aspiring junior golfers throughout the year – MGA Links (Norton), Fenway Golf Range (East Longmeadow), Reedy Meadow Golf Course (Lynnfield), and Hyannis Golf Course (Hyannis).
Children from all demographics participate in various programs that provide a basic introduction to the game of golf and the Life Skills curriculum of The First Tee. Partnerships exist with over 30 youth agencies – Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCA's, Park & Rec. Depts. – in an effort to reach as many children as possible. To date, nearly 20,000 children have been introduced to The First Tee and The First Tee Life Skills Experience.
As an avid golfer, you know how the unique character and etiquette of the game teach important values including honesty, integrity and sportsmanship that can positively impact the lives of all who play it, especially children. By teaching the Life Skills curriculum, we are confident that our participants are learning these important life lessons and more through The First Tee of Massachusetts.
Please join us in supporting the MGA Junior Golf Fund with your tax deductible contribution today. Your gift will not only help strengthen the future of golf in Massachusetts, but more importantly you will be helping thousands of kids learn the important lessons that the game of golf can teach us all.
